The USC + LAFD EMS fellowship is a 1 year fully accredited ACGME program. It gives you the opportunity to work with:

  • Busiest Emergency Department in California
  • Largest Trauma Center in LA County
  • Busiest Base Station in LA County
  • Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD), the 2nd largest EMS provider agency in the United States
  • LAFD Dispatch Center
  • Emergency Medicine Residents, Education, and Research

Expectations include:

  • Operations with LAFD
  • Ride-alongs
  • Dispatch Center quality improvement
  • Tactical EMS (TEMS) Training
  • Exposure to USART, HAZMAT and HERT
  • Participation in large event planning and execution
  • Administration and Teaching
  • Base Station Tape Review
  • EMS resident rotation education and guidance
  • Emergency Department Grand Rounds
  • ACGME/ABEM requirements
  • Core curriculum
  • Research project
  • Emergency Medicine board certification
  • Emergency Department clinical shifts
